I met Marilyn in 2010 after moving to Dallas and becoming friends with the Schrag family. Over the next 4 ½ years, our friendship grew, and we spent many happy hours together with Marilyn, Elwyn, their children and grandchildren. We learned more about Huntington’s disease and enjoyed participating in their lives, being blessed by them and sometimes helping out in small ways as opportunities came up. Brian’s “Make Life HD” project gave me an opportunity to create something to show how much this friendship meant, and I decided to design and create a leaf quilt for Marilyn. She and I shared a love of fall leaves, so I consulted with her regarding fabric colors and was able to present the finished quilt to her on her birthday in 2015. I know that even though she’s not living in Dallas any more, the quilt reminds her that she has friends that love her and are connected to her through the miles. This gives life to us both. I’m now having fun planning my next quilt! Robin
